Peter Hermansen from Lykling on Bømlo was a dean priest in Sunnhordland when he was arrested by German police in 1942. He was imprisoned in several different jails on his way to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp in Germany, the first being the prison on Stord. For a very special reason, he was released before the war ended.
His daughter, Johanna Seim Hjelland (born on Liberation Day in 1946), shares her father's and his family's war story.
