Cecilie Enger talks about her book The White Map. It is a historical novel about the 'manwomen' Bertha Torgersen and Hanna Brummenæs, who lived on Karmøy in the late 1800s. Dressed in men's coats and hats, they carved their way into male-dominated positions, kept their love for each other hidden, and undertook an unusual class journey. As a result of their life choices, they also experienced hardship.

Anne Cathrine Straume, NRK: The White Map is a novel about daring to choose your own path. It tells the story of two women who led the way in making the map more colorful.

The event is supported by Fritt Ord. Free admission.
