Every Saturday, Sola Library organises something fun for children and families.
For some of the events you need to buy a ticket, tickets are released the Monday before the event at 9am.
24 August, 12-12.30 (Intimscenen, free tickets)
Bike bounce
This autumn's reading hour will feature some splashy bike riding. We'll test bike lights in the dark, take a look at uphill races and read from "Kåre og Marimba hjelper til" by Markus Lantto.

7 September, 12-13 pm (Intimscenen, free tickets)
Stick games and sword fighting
Bjørn Veen, author of the book "Pinnelek", is coming to talk about swords and sword fighting and to read from his book. Afterwards, you can hold a real sword and make your own stick sword.

14 September, 10am-2pm (Library)
Wonder trail about mushrooms
You may find mushrooms in the vegetable aisle at the supermarket, but did you know that mushrooms are not vegetables? Just like animals, mushrooms need to eat other living things to survive. That's why scientists say that fungi are neither plants nor animals. Mushrooms have their own kingdom, the mushroom kingdom.

28 September 10-14 (Library)
Dinosaur rebus
Dinosaurs lived many, many years ago. They varied in size. Some were the size of a chicken, while others were as tall as a five-storey house. To date, more than 1,000 different species have been found. Join us and learn more about these fascinating creatures.

12 October 10-14 (Library)
Scary hobby workshop
We'll make spiders out of pipe cleaners, cotton balls and beads.

26 October, 12-2pm (Library)
Celebration of Diwali
Diwali is a South Asian festival of lights celebrated in October and November. Learn more about this custom and decorate a tea light holder with beautiful colours and patterns. Open to all, regardless of cultural affiliation.

2 November, 12-13 pm (Intimscenen, free tickets)
Snakes and stuff
How fast can a snake really kill? Do snakes have teeth? Get answers to these questions and more when Bjørn Ormstad, author of the book "Snakes and stuff", brings several of his snakes to visit the library.

9 November at 12 noon (Intimscenen, free tickets)
Music games for everyone
Merethe Camilla By is a fiddler and singer, and works at Kulturskolen as a teacher and conductor. Join her in the music and let your imagination run wild!

Learn a simple dance with the dance group Kidzå. Suitable for both children and adults.

23 November at 10-14 (Library)
The library mystery
We've collected evidence and clues, but can't solve the mystery on our own. Come and be a detective for a day and help us find the villain.

30 November, 12-12.45 (Intimscenen, free tickets)
Dance for parents and children (3-6 years)
Join us to play, dance and explore movement together with dance teacher Camilla Apeland. A dance class where the focus is on the interaction and relationship between child and adult.

Gubben og Kjerringå grooms for Christmas
A theatre performance based on Alf Prøysen's songs. Gubben og Kjerringå have a lot to organise before Christmas, but they find it so much more enjoyable to sing and play that they tend to forget themselves. Will they manage to finish everything by Christmas after all?

14 December, 10am-2pm (Library)
Lantern workshop
Make cosy lanterns from used glass jars.

21 December, 10am-2pm (Library)
