The duo Garness is Ingelin Reigstad Norheim and Hildegunn Garnes Reigstad. They are traveling on a release tour with their brand new songs in dialect, from the album "Restart" (coming February 2025). The twin sisters from Frekhaug near Bergen are multi-instrumentalists and serve an exciting and dynamic musical expression with an instrument set-up that has rarely been seen before. The songs are immediate, melodious and rhythmically driven in an indie/folk/pop landscape, and the duo wants to spread joy and hope with their music. With a twinkle in his eye and distinctive twin communication on stage, Garness invites you to an inspiring evening!

With them as a guest this evening is Ingrid Helene Kopperstad Raunehaug, who will have a section at the start of the concert. Ingrid has her ancestry from Herøy, with a father who grew up on Herøy, while she herself grew up on Emblem.

The album Restart consists of 10 strong songs signed by the duo. The songwriters Christine Sandtorv (Ephemera, Stjerneteller) and Pål A. Frøiland (Elle Melle, Kristin Minde) have also provided lyrics for some of the songs. The duo asked their good friend and drummer colleague for many years, Thomas Gallatin (Morten Abel, Darling West, Odd Nordstoga and others) to produce the album. It has been a fruitful and inspiring collaboration, and the duo receives feedback that the sound of the singles released so far feels new and fresh, but unmistakably Garness.

The audience at a concert with Garness can expect a warm and personal style from two experienced artists who offer themselves. Ingelin is a keen guitarist and plays both acoustic and electric guitars, while Hildegunn plays his custom-built, standing drum set, keyboards and other curious string and percussion instruments. After working together for over two decades, the duo have become very cooperative and enjoy themselves on stage together.

Garness has performed in TV programs such as: Tonight, Beat for Beat, Absolutt Norsk, Kjempesjansen, Good morgen, Norge, Håp i ei gryte and Jul på Slottet. They have collaborated with artists such as Marit Larsen, Sigvart Dagsland, Jonas Alaska and Odd Nordstoga. They were introduced to a large proportion of the Norwegian people when they held the traditional Christmas concert "the night before the eve" on NRK1 on Christmas Eve. Their critically acclaimed album Barnet i krybben has also become a Christmas favorite for many. The duo has released several other albums, two of them with English-language, folk/rock-inspired pop, and the song Mountaintop played regularly on NRK P1 for a full 12 weeks. Other projects they have been working on in recent years are the Easter concert presentation "Gåten om korset" and the music collective Lia Musikklag.
