It's intimate and close when Peter Wemö takes the stage.
Here he is with the music of Björn Afzelius, and you'll be treated to two hours of familiar, unfamiliar, sing-alongs, laughter and surprising moments with tearful cheeks.
Afzelius:
‘Elvis made me sing, The Beatles made me play guitar and Bob Dylan made me care about the lyrics in the music,’ wrote Björn Afzelius in his biography. As one of Sweden's most popular musicians in the 1970s and 1980s, including with Mikael Wiehe in the Hoola Bandoola Band, Afzelius made a name for himself with socially critical lyrics and great political commitment.
The lyrics are as relevant now as they were then, and with a large portion of humour and good anecdotes, some of which provide a historical perspective on the Nordic song wave in general, you're in for a great experience.
The concert ranges from the finest and most gentle to that which creates room for sing-alongs and a good laugh.
In 2022 he would have been 75 years old, but Björn Afzelius succumbed to cancer, aged just 52.
Peter Wemö leads a concert tribute to the much-loved artist, a Swedish cultural worker who has made a Norwegian of himself, and who is one of the great tradition bearers of Swedish and Nordic songs.
