We open the third and final festival day with a double production featuring Hebbex D'expectatio Expectata and Jules Reidy.
As a duo, Kjetil Brandsdal (Noxagt, Ultralyd, No Balls) and Thore Warland (Staer, Golden Oriole, Tørrfall, Plan Affine) have released a series of albums exploring a wide range of historical musical sources. Their fifth album will be launched at this concert. In Hebbex D'expectatio Expectata, they continue this journey, now joined by Helge Thornes, who brings a background in dancehall and psychobilly (Troubletone Soundsystem, HBX Crew, Oransjt Mareritt). Their lyrics engage with Aubrey Beardsley’s unfinished novels, Roman tragedies, and Norwegian newspaper journalism.
Jules Reidy, one of the most prominent and exciting guitarists in Berlin’s contemporary music scene, returns to Only Connect. Their extensive catalogue ranges from solo projects to groundbreaking collaborations with artists such as claire rousay, Oren Ambarchi, Andrea Belfi, and Sam Dunscombe.
Reidy’s new solo album, Ghost/Spirit, takes us on a deeply personal journey through love, transformation, and spirituality, expressed through fractal guitar figures, ethereal vocal layers, and flowing microtones.
