In the 1990s, Rebecka Törnqvist was regarded as one of the biggest artists in the great pop-exporting nation of Sweden. Rebecka managed to stand out with a much more sophisticated and heartfelt sound, which also appealed greatly to jazz audiences.

In 2023, she celebrated 30 years since the release of her first album A Night Like This. Several releases, including Good Things and numerous awards, followed in the years after. In Sweden, people began to speak of the "pop star who disappeared." "It's true that I'm not a pop star. But I haven't disappeared, neither as a person nor as a musician," Rebecka Törnqvist has stated.

So what is Rebecka Törnqvist's music like today? Still pop, true to the roots of her youth favorites like Kurt Weill and Randy Newman. But along the way, she has been influenced in several directions. Her latest album Memo contains jazz, soul, folk, and art music. The response from critics has been overwhelming. The Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri calls her album the opposite of Tom Waits' Rain Dogs, while Dagens Nyheter gave it 5 out of 5 in their review.

In recent years, she has worked closely with the renowned guitarist, composer, and arranger Johan Lindström. They have collaborated in everything from large formats with symphony orchestras to the simple and pure duo format.

When they now stand on stage together as a duo in Stavanger, it is two of Sweden's most influential musicians coming together to create a wonderfully atmospheric evening.
