In Ingri Egeberg's art, extremes meet – the fearless and untamed, and the sensitive and fragile. In this exhibition, opposites are not only allowed to exist side by side, but they also enhance and reinforce each other. The exhibition Contradiction shows this dynamic: the feminine meets the masculine, strength meets vulnerability, structure meets impulse.
In the creative process, nothing is fixed. The artist starts with an idea, but lets the image take control, where spontaneity becomes a central part of the images. Egeberg's art is characterized by an expressive use of brushstrokes and a strong use of color where the simple and immediate expression contains depth and complexity.
Ingri Egeberg was born in Hamar, but lives and works in Bergen. She is educated at the Norwegian National Academy of Arts, Crafts and Design, and has since had exhibitions all over the country. This exhibition will mainly consist of paintings on canvas in various formats.
