About the Show:

This time, we are excited to present the dancer Danitza Olea, who will join our local ensemble of musicians and dancers consisting of: Asgeir and Mo (guitar and violin), Bodhild (cello), Kjetil (percussion), Esteban (flamenco guitar), Ana, and Kjersti (dance).

Together, they will offer us a dynamic and vibrant show with classical flamenco styles and Spanish music.

The show "Sonidos de la Tierra" seeks to explore deep, earthy tones. Spanish guitar, castanets, and violin melodies will transport us to the heart of the Spanish music world.

The program ranges from classical flamenco to Spanish-inspired and fusion styles.

This show is a visual and musical experience with first-class musicians and technically advanced dancers. Come and join us! Feel the energy with this group! You will find your soul and mind dancing for days after!

About the Artists:

Danitza Olea: Flamenco Dancer

Danitza is a dancer and dance teacher specializing in Spanish and classical dance. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, her educational journey from Madrid and Seville led her to settle in Samnanger, Norway, for the past 20 years.

Danitza is also trained in classical ballet and classical Spanish dance from "Manzana de las Luces." She is an artist in constant development and maintains her base in Spain, where she works with some of the most prominent dancers and choreographers in flamenco.

In 2006, she established "Flamenco Talento" in Bergen, where she offers workshops and lessons for both children and adults throughout Hordaland. Danitza has toured in Spain, Argentina, and Chile and performed in several cities in Norway, including at the Bergen International Festival, Førde Festival, Nima Bergen Hordaland, and the National Flamenco Festival in Oslo. Additionally, she has taught ballet to the youth talent group at Grieghallen and teaches other dance styles at several elementary schools in Bergen. We are fortunate to have with us in Stavanger the 2019 Bergen Cultural Prize winner, awarded to her "for her efforts in creating diversity and great joy of dance among the city's residents."

Kjersti Dahl: Flamenco Dancer

Kjersti began dancing flamenco in 1990 while living with gypsies in Granada, where she learned flamenco in its original environment. Over the years, she has studied flamenco at academies both in Spain and Norway. She maintains her flamenco base in Granada and Madrid. Since 2005, she has been leading and teaching at the Stavanger Flamenco school and at Tyristrand in Eastern Norway. Kjersti's dance is characterized by its high precision and gypsy influence. She has created and participated in numerous performances with Asgeir and Mo, Esteban Cuesta, and Kjetil Hana in Stavanger, as well as in several productions in Oslo. In the fall of 2022, she danced in the production of "Carmen" with Opera Rogaland.

Ana Steen: Flamenco Dancer

Ana has been dancing flamenco for several years with Stavanger Flamenco, where she quickly stood out with her stage performances and self-developed choreographies. She has had several study stays in Spain, with a flamenco base in Algeciras, where she specialized in "Bata de Cola," a technique involving the "dress with a train." Ana has performed in numerous flamenco shows with various musicians, including Asgeir and Mo. She finds joy in exploring unusual or old flamenco styles and interesting musical fusions. In recent years, she has initiated a collaboration with cellist Bodhild Vossgård and guitarist Esteban Cuesta, where all contribute with their own creations. In the fall of 2022, she danced in the production of "Carmen" with Opera Rogaland.
