How to Get to Tysnes
By Public Transport:
- From Bergen: Take the bus to Halhjem, then catch the ferry to Våge, right in the heart of the festival area.
- From Stord: Take the bus from Leirvik Center to Jektevik or Sandvikvåg. Catch the ferry to Hodnanes and then transfer to a bus heading to Våge. Alternatively, follow the instructions above for connections via Halhjem.
Night Ferry: There will be a night boat to Os after concerts. It’s popular and fills up quickly, so reserve early. (More info to come)
By Car:
- From the North: Drive south on the E39 from Bergen to Halhjem ferry terminal and take the ferry to Våge. Park at the festival parking area at Windsor.
- From Stavanger (South): Drive across the island of Stord, turn off at the Jektevik ferry dock, and take the ferry to Hodnanes. After a 7-minute ferry ride, you’ll land at Hodnanes and then follow the road to Våge.
Accommodation Options
Harbor: You can dock in the central Våge harbor, near the ferry dock. (Note: 2024 prices apply.) A berth costs NOK 950 for the full festival period and includes the captain. Overnight guests on the boat cost NOK 700 per person (Wednesday to Sunday).

Camping: Camp Tysnesfest opens on Wednesday of the festival week. A festival pass is required to stay at the campsite, and a festival bus will shuttle between the campsite and festival grounds. Camping is popular, so book early!
