Valkyrien Allstars

The Valkyrie Allstars are known as one of the country's best live bands, and since their first release in 2007 have led the way in the development of arranged folk music. The band has gone in new directions with each release it has released, and has ended up with a completely distinctive expression that they do not share with anyone.

The last studio album in the series "Slutte og byne" won the Spellemannsprisen 2020 in the category Wise, and looks suspiciously like pop music. For the observant listener, there will nevertheless be clear references to Norwegian traditional music. The title track of the same name quickly became almost a mantra for the people from south to north, and the album was hailed as the best album of the year of release on most lists with glowing reviews from the country's biggest media.

The band consists of Tuva Syvertsen, Magnus Larsen Jr, Erik Sollid and Martin Langlie, who together create and arrange the songs that remain an eternal love and mysteries that will never be solved. Both on record and live, energy, fervour, and surprising twists float on a bed of what is difficult to simulate: sparkling interplay.
