The lighthouse cafe is open everyday until august 11th. Utsira Lighthouse is arguably the most famous attraction on Utsira. Make sure to pay a visit when you're staying overnight or just taking a day trip to Utsira.
The Utsira Lighthouse station was built in 1843 and 1844 and was put into operation on August 15, 1844, with two lighthouses emitting a fixed light, a twin lighthouse. In 1890, the western tower received a rotating lens made in Paris. The characteristic of Utsira Lighthouse then became 3 rapid flashes, followed by a one-minute pause. The eastern lighthouse was taken out of service, but its remains still stand. The western lighthouse with the old rotating lens is still in operation and is a magnificent sight in the evening and at night. The other 3 lighthouse keeper's houses are available for overnight rental.
