About the tour
We start the trip in the middle of the city center of Ålesund. Here you meet your guide, and receive an introduction to the electric bicycles and a safety brief. The bike ride from the center to Sukkertoppen is idyllic, and goes through the town's charming streets, over the bridge to Hessa before reaching the foot of the mountain. The guide will stop along the way and tell stories about the town, the coast and nature in Sunnmøre.
We park the bikes before we start the ascent towards Sukkertoppen. Sukkertoppen is one of Ålesund's city mountains that rewards hikers with spectacular views. The trip is about 2 km in easy terrain with an elevation from 50 meters to 315 meters. From the cairn at the top there is a panoramic view of the Sunnmøre Alps, the fjord, the open sea and the Art Nouveau city of Ålesund. And is the perfect place for a breath of fresh air. We then return to the bikes and cycle back to Ålesund.
