The Half Day Private Experience is a chance to go back in time and immerse yourself and your companions in what life was like during the Viking Age and the footprints it has left. Learn how people really lived during the viking age, how they dressed, what they ate and how plants were used in magic and rituals. Get up close to our traditional wooden boat, built by hand using the same method as viking ships.
Learn and try for yourself some viking skills - test your ability to hunt with a bow and arrow, understand the role of playing games and competition in keeping your skills developed and play a viking age strategy game for yourself. Find out what music might have sounded like and try out a viking age musical instrument. How did viking age people make clothes? Or light a fire? Learn some techniques for yourself.
Was it really such a savage time, or was there more law and order and sophistication that you think? What was the role of women? Whether sunshine or rain, we will put together a range of activities that you can try for yourself and learn a different part of the Viking story.
