The hotel has been expanded in stages until 1936.
Visnes Hotel is assigned Norwegian Heritage "Olavsrosa", which is awarded to outstanding products rooted in Norwegian culture.
Rooms have been refurbished in 1950's style, with large bathrooms. Many of the rooms have balconies overlooking the fjord. Shower and WC. There are also family rooms.
