The trio Nothing personal has received great reviews and their music is described as strong and conceptual. Dorothea Økland, Thea Emilie Wang and Solveig Wang are all active musicians with various projects such as Klossmajor, Fieh, HeyLove and Soft Punch and their own solo projects. Together they are Nothing Personal and create a collage of experimental pop music with elements of jazz, R&B and electroacoustic music!

Their approach to music is that of a research lab where much of the music is created in the moment. Sound collages and unconventional elements are mixed together with lyrics and melodies that are very catchy. The music consists of catchy vocal parts and lyrics that make you wonder and your musical references work. The music is integrated with Tobias Gulbrandsen on visuals and projection, which creates a completely unique aesthetic at the concerts that in itself is worth a visit. Guldbrandsen also does the band's artwork.

The trio's first EP, "The Alchemy of Nothing Personal", was rated 5 out of 5 by both Subjekt and Stavanger Aftenblad, where Subjekt's Elisteinar Tenga wrote: "'The Alchemy of Nothing Personal' is an abstract totality with a dada aesthetic that charms, voices that seduce and compositions that surprise individually and together. Here is a forward-looking EP that really sets the music landscape on fire!"

Dagens Næringsliv's Audun Vinger described the trio as follows: "Nothing Personal is like a dream come true, where searching electronic contemporary music meets intricate pop melodies, the sensibility of avant-garde r&b, sophisticated trance and improv."

Stavanger Jazzforum's new club concert series "Beats & Baluba" will, as the title suggests, be an evening filled with beats, grooves, rhythms and parties. The chairs will be removed in favour of an intimate standing concert with immediate proximity to the stage and artist.

Stavanger Jazzforum presents around three artists every six months, and the common denominator is beat-based concerts, with elements of funk, soul, electronica, Latin, afrobeats, acid jazz, reggae, hip hop and other cool stuff that gets the body moving.

In addition, they book in DJs who open and close the evening with a life-affirming, sweaty and sexy DJ set!
