Boklansering Trond Borgen: Lars Hertervig

In his new book, Borgen has collected many of Hertervig's Stavanger motifs, localising several that were previously unknown, and showing how Hertervig's images are important historical sources for us today. Here, local history is combined with an artistic analysis, at the same time as Borgen uses these motifs to show the greatness of Hertervig's art, how he developed in an increasingly radical direction from the 1850s right up to the turn of the century.

In addition to this, Borgen's interpretation of the motifs also expresses Hertervig's visionary side and his unique treatment of light. This is where Hertervig's pioneering artistic development is pursued furthest and with the greatest consistency.

Trond Borgen himself will present the book with a lecture. It will be possible to buy signed copies of the book after the presentation.

The book will be launched at Stavanger Art Museum in collaboration with Jæren forlag.
