It was first built in 1922 as a small stone hut. A larger cabin was constructed in 1953 (restored in 1980) and is connected to the stone hut by a passage. Total number of beds: 38. Self-service tourist association cabin.
The surrounding area offers fantastic terrain in all directions and many options for day hikes. To the east lie Snøheim and Reinheim, to the north you will find Dindalshytta, Loennechenbua, and Gammelsetra, while Grøvudalshytta is located to the northwest.
