Reinsvassbu (900 m.a.s.) is located at the western end of the Reinsvatnet lake, about 1 1/2 hours' walk from the dam at Reinsvatnet. The path goes along the lake's northern shore. Reinsvassbu is selfserviced and has 8 beds. There are food supplies for sale, and the cabin is open all year around. Reinvassbu is a great starting point for hikes to e.g. Reinstinden or Slotthø. You can also do a easy hike through Vikebotnen and end up a the edge over Eikesdalsvatnet. From here you can enjoy the view of Hoemsdalen, Breifonntind and Juratind. There are good opportunities for fishing at Reinsvatnet and in Øksendalstjønnan (a fishing permit for the whole Snøhetta area can be bought at the cabin). The cabin is situated within Dovrefjell National Park. The wild reindeers you can come across in the mountains of Sunndal is the last ones of the original wild reindeer population of the area.   How to get there: From Sunndalsøra up the Litledalen valley, turn over the dam at Holbu and park by the dam at Reinsvatnet. You can also get there from Brandstad (ca. 6 hr), from Eikesdalen/Vike (Vikeskaret) (ca. 5 hr), or from Aursjøhytta (ca. 8 hr).
