Utsira lighthouse is one of the island's most popular attractions. Utsira lighthouse station was decommissioned in 2004, but the lighthouse is still in operation with the original lighthouse lens. You can spend one or more nights in the lighthouse area and you're guaranteed an experience you'll remember for a long time.
Accommodation in the lighthouse keeper's dwelling
At the lighthouse area you can stay in 3 different lighthouse keeper apartments with 2, 3 or 5 bedrooms. The apartments have facilities such as a living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, retro furniture and WiFi. Pets are allowed for an additional fee when staying in the lighthouse keeper apartments. See prices and more information here.
Accommodation in charming Nyperosa
In the lighthouse area, you can also spend the night in the pink cabin Nyperosa, which is part of the art installation created by Solveig Egeland. The cabin is available for overnight stays in the period 1 April - 1 October. The cabin has a double bed with room for 2 people. Please note that there is no running water in the cabin, but showers and toilets are available in the neighbouring house. Pets are allowed at an additional cost when staying in Nyperosa, but please note that space in the cabin is limited. See more information and booking here.
Lighthouse café in the summer
During the summer (mid-June - mid-August) there is a small lighthouse café that is open every day. Waffles, coffee and other goodies are sold here. You can also experience art exhibitions when the café is open. You can also take a guided tour of the lighthouse.
