Monsås Farm, located beautifully by the Romsdalsfjord, practices organic farming with 100 winter-fed wild sheep grazing in the mountains during summer. The ever-developing garden, managed by landscape architect Mari Klauseth Hagen, hosts various garden-related courses. The garden features two greenhouses and a cut flower field, which you can enjoy in summer and early autumn.
Accommodation close to the fjord
At the end of the farmhouse, there's a charming rental unit spanning two floors. The top floor, formerly an atelier for Britt Westhagen, previous generation owner, offers accommodation for 4-6 people. The unit includes made-up beds, towels, electric and wood heating, a washing machine, and a private outdoor area in the landscaped garden with stunning views of the fjord and mountains.
Beach and gallery
The farm extends to the fjord with its own shoreline, perfect for relaxation and swimming. History enthusiasts can visit a storehouse with an exhibition, and nearby Galleri Blå displays paintings by Britt Westhagen.
Mountain Sports
Halvor Hagen, the farmer, is also a mountain guide and author of "Toppturer i Romsdalen," offering guidance for climbing Romsdalshorn and other majestic mountains through Hagen Fjellsport.
