Autumn delights
The fjords are Norway’s orchard, and our specialities include apples, pears and plums. The Sognefjord and Hardanger regions are particularly well known for their fruit, and for the cider they produce. And don’t miss out on the delicious local apple cakes around!
There is a long tradition of cheese making in Fjord Norway, and numerous new small-scale producers are now making world-class cheese. Tingvollost, a family-run farm dairy, can be found in the very north of Fjord Norway. They have won many awards for their cheese, and their ‘Kraftkar’ cheese was even voted the world’s best cheese in 2016!
Also, don’t miss out on delicious local seasonal fare, such as lamb or venison, and snuggling up in front of the fire with a cup of cocoa.
