Staying in the North Sea Dome at Raw Ocean Lodge is simply a must! You can relax and enjoy the ocean, gaze at the night sky through the skylight from bed, and watch the sunrise while lying under the duvet.
How many people can the dome accommodate?
The dome has a double bed with space for two people.
What amenities does the dome have?
The dome has a gas heater so can be heated quickly when needed. it also has openings at two ends, so there’s good airflow on hot days (two air vents). There is a WC and large shower, as well as a simple kitchen, about 15 metres from the dome.
Can the North Sea Dome be rented throughout the year?
The dome can be booked from May to October.
Are bed linen and towels included in the price?
Bed linen and towels are included in the price of renting the dome.
Can I order food when I rent the dome?
The summer café at Raw Ocean Lodge serves food during July and August. Outside of this period, it’s not possible to order food at the lodge. You will find restaurants and cafes in Skudeneshavn (about a 10-minute drive), including Havn restaurant and Smiå Bistro. There is also a grocery shop in Skudeneshavn. If you’re travelling from Haugesund, there’s also a grocery shop (Coop Prix Langåker) at Ferkingstad, which is about 10 minutes from Raw Ocean Lodge.
Can other guests see into the dome?
The view from the dome is directly out to sea, so other guests can’t see into the dome.
Do I have to clean the dome when I leave?
Cleaning is included in the price so it’s not something you have to think about when renting the North Sea Dome.
Are pets allowed in the dome?
Pets are not allowed in the dome or its adjacent cabin.
What should I pack when staying overnight in the dome?
The dome is technically a luxury tent, meaning that it is not insulated, so it may be a good idea to pack wool socks and thermal underwear or pyjamas, especially during the coldest months.
Activities at Raw Ocean Lodge
Raw Ocean Lodge rents out SUPs (stand-up paddleboards), surfboards and fishing equipment. If you don't fancy trying it out on your own, they also offer SUP and surfing lessons. You can also experience the beautiful coastal landscape on a guided walk with a local guide. There is also a bouldering course in the area.
How do I get to Raw Ocean Lodge?
By car:
Follow the Fv 547 road south towards Skudeneshavn. At Sandve, turn off the Fv 547 and follow Sjoarvegen road down the hill, then turn right onto Storaurvegen road and follow it all the way out to Raw Ocean Lodge.

By plane:
Raw Ocean Lodge is only a 30-minute drive from Haugesund Airport Karmøy, which has direct flights from Oslo, Gdansk, Malaga and Alicante.
By Bus:
Take a Kolumbus bus 210 or X210 from Haugesund, alight at Sandve, walk down the hill in Sjoarvegen road, turn right at Storaurvegen road and follow it all the way to Raw Ocean Lodge.

What can I experience close to the Raw Ocean Lodge?
There are places to fish on the Raw Ocean Lodge grounds and fishing equipment can be rented if needed. Sandvesanden beach is just a short walk from Raw Ocean Lodge. The beach is excellent for swimming and surfing, or just enjoying the beautiful surroundings. There’s a cycle path to Skudeneshavn, home to attractions such as Bade-Olena sauna. Skudeneshavn is only a 10-minute drive away and Syreneset Fort is a five-minute drive.
