Rooms and cabins
The house of Olaus has 8 apartments with hotel standard. Here, rough timber meets modern expression and comfort. All rooms have their own kitchen and bathroom.
Stay in the Midwifes cabin, where you can fish from the veranda.
The midwifes cabin came to Valsøya on a raft many years ago and was originally a storehouse that the Midwife could use while on assignment in the village. The Midwifes cabin is furnished with antique, restored furniture in the living room and the bedrooms are up the same steep staircase that the midwife had to climb to go to bed after a long day’s work.
Glamping
You can also choose to «glamp» in the fun pod houses, which resemble some barrels set into the ground. This is the perfect option as an upgrade from a tent on your cycling holiday. Down the hill from the pod house is the sanitary building for when you need a kitchen or a bathroom.
See valsoya.no to read about all 14 units, and to book your stay.
Tent, campers and caravans
The fjord campsite has 50 pitches for motorhomes and caravans, with two associated sanitary facilities. Use of the CamperClean amtyrin machine is included for those who stay on the site.
At The Horse Islet (Hestholmen), there are available tent sites in the cozy forest. These are nature’s own tent sites between the trees. In addition, there is two adapted “plateus” closer to the sanitary building for camping.
All camping and tent pitches can be booked via the website. If you are unable to book online, it is also possible to check in at the reception upon arrival.

Activities
Valsøya has both an associated restaurant and climbing park within walking distance, which is open during the summer months. The area offers many nice hikes, some short, some longer. Popular mountain peaks to climb in the area might be Hennafjellet, Ruten or Møkkelfjellet. In addition, we offer the hire of an open boat with an outboard motor – excellent for fishing. You can also hire single kayaks if you have basic training in kayaking. The annual festival Hestholmen Retro festival is held on the first weekend in August – don’t miss out on Norway’s coziest festival!
