Om Blokka på Bjerke tells the story of Hatterud's life in a high-rise block in Oslo from the 1960s. The book reflects on life in the block, the joys and sorrows of its residents, close friendships, and the changes both in the area and within the block itself over time. Hatterud also looks back on his own personal changes.
The author previously published Mot normalt (2018) and Mjøsa rundt med mor (2020), where he explored life as a gay and disabled person with a working-class background from the countryside.
