A winter storm rages over Svalbard, and the drifting ice encloses Half Moon Island. Amidst this icy wilderness stand three children: 13-year-old Julia and her younger twin siblings, Ida and Sindre, aged 8. Completely alone. They ended up there due to a fateful mistake. No one knows they are there. They don’t even know where they are themselves. Meanwhile, on the Norwegian mainland, their parents and the police are searching desperately, unaware that an entire sea separates them.
For these city children, a battle begins to overcome both their own fears and the harsh, seemingly merciless forces of nature. To make matters worse, the cabin they’ve taken refuge in is besieged by a curious polar bear. It’s not only older sister Julia who must grow up fast. Faced with an impossible situation, all three must learn something children love but that modern life has largely taken from them: the chance to master the "impossible"!
