Båtsvik

Båtsvik has been active as a solo artist since 2017. Like many others, his songs initially started in English, but it was only when he switched to the Stord dialect that he found his voice—a voice that carries raw and honest reflections from both his upbringing and the present day.

In 2022, Båtsvik put together a band consisting of people with anything but folk music in their background, which gave the beautiful and delicate folk songs a slightly rougher and more rock-influenced feel. They hit the road, and with every turn, new opportunities opened up. A short tour with just a few dates suddenly turned into a whole list of gigs, from Bergen in the west to Oslo in the east. What critics and audiences alike find especially impressive is Båtsvik's ability to make even noisy venues fall completely silent when he sings one of his ballads, only to turn up the heat and get the crowd stomping to the rhythm in the next song. A concert with Båtsvik is a journey both musically and emotionally. As Festivalguiden put it so well after a concert at the Egersund Folk Music Festival: "Watch out for Båtsvik!"

In mid-February, Båtsvik will release his first full album.

It was recorded at Egersound Studios with Eirik Bekkeheien at the controls. The result turned out just as hoped, with a live energy that closely mirrors what you experience at a Båtsvik concert.

COMING BY TRAIN?

It's not a long walk from Ogna station to Ogna scene (15 minutes), but Ogna Scene's Shuttle bus service will pick up and drop off their fantastic audience members coming to Ogna Scene from Ogna train station for free.

They have scheduled it so that those arriving by train from Stavanger will be picked up at approximately 12:50. From Egersund, around 13:36.

They will also take you back to the station after the concert.

Ogna Scene wants to make things easy and comfortable for you.

Note: They only have one car... If many people need rides, there may be a 5-10 minute wait.
