After half a century in the music industry, Bjørn Eidsvåg stands as a pillar of Norwegian music, performing approximately 80 concerts each year across the country’s nooks and crannies. On Sunday, March 17, the beloved artist will celebrate his 70th birthday, and in the autumn, he will embark on a jubilee tour titled "Ingen vei tilbake" (No Turning Back).
Regarding what the audience can expect at the concerts, Bjørn says:
“‘Ingen vei tilbake’ is the title of my jubilee tour this autumn. We will take a look back over our shoulders, but our gaze is primarily directed forward. We aim to show that we are relevant both thematically and musically. Some of my songs have received a new life through interpretations by younger colleagues, and we will see if more can be revitalised musically.
The stories behind some of my most popular songs will be shared, and you will learn about the inspirations behind the new ones. I have had a long and eventful career and have experienced that some of my songs have almost become part of the national heritage. We will present them, but as mentioned, we will primarily focus on looking ahead.”
