It's the night before Christmas Eve. Pia returns home for Christmas after travelling in England for six months. Her goal is to find Kristoffer, the boyfriend who was supposed to be travelling with her, but failed at the last minute. Finding him turns out to be more complicated than she thought. Kristoffer has sunk into the ground.
Pia starts searching for Kristoffer and along the way she meets several more or less dissatisfied and disillusioned people. Vegar, Pia's old best mate, sleepless and frustrated by an imaginary physical defect. Rap artist Gary, disappointed by his lack of problems to rap about. British oil worker Wayne, with a disillusioned view of the love that brought him to Norway. Stian, a rock guitarist who works in a nursery because his record deal fell through. And a principled taxi driver. In the midst of all this, Santa appears and things start to happen ...
