Double Concert with Of All Things and Eie
Of All Things
Known for their fearless and uncompromising approach to the genre, Of All Things has made a name for themselves with powerful and melodic alternative rock. The band, renowned for their high-energy live shows, has been establishing itself as a promising name on the Norwegian rock scene since 2020.
Inspired by bands like Foals, Kent, and The Amazons, the quartet blends guitar-driven alt-rock with emotional vocals and a solid rhythm section. Following great reviews of their debut EP and latest singles, they’re now ready to release their debut album, Falling In Line With The Person In Front Of You. Started in 2022, the album reflects a band in transition, with themes of conflict and harmony. Written over a long period and with several line-up changes, the album delivers a varied sound. From in-your-face rock tracks like I Want To Be Mean and Ink Stains to the alt-rock ballad You’ve Got To Know, the band shows off its musical range.
While the album itself may carry a refined, controlled quality, their live shows are a different story—loud, energetic, and chaotic. Of All Things thrives in dark, sweaty clubs where your Doc Martens stick to the floor while you dance, making Grottene the perfect venue for them.
Eie
Noisy instrumentation combined with autoharp meets slam poetry and noisy vocals. Eie pushes the boundaries of what music can look and sound like, calling their style gothic grunge. Songwriter Emilie Eie allows the music to expand on themes in the lyrics, like destructive relationships and uncritical idolisation of authorities. The songs are meant to hit hard and challenge the listener’s mindset.
Since their founding and debut EP in March 2023, the band has released several singles and is working towards an album release in spring 2025. Over the past year, Eie has performed at Mablisfestivalen, Tysnesfest, and the industry festival Vill Vill Vest in Bergen, where their concert earned a six-star review in GAFFA magazine. “The artist masters a broad range of emotions expressed in various ways across different songs through her strong storytelling ability and impeccable musical skill.” – GAFFA “Norden’s Recommendation of the Month”
“Emilie Eie refuses to be merely decorative. This is acid, noise, and sharp edges all the way.” – Leif Tore Lindø, Aftenbladet
