ABOUT THE FILM
Wilde (31) and Marin (28) are sisters and best friends. Marin has long struggled with severe mental illness and has attempted suicide multiple times. Wilde has spent years trying to save and help her sister live. After many months of involuntary hospitalization, Wilde learns that Marin has decided to end her life on her birthday. This presents Wilde with a major dilemma: Can she accept her sister's decision, or is there something more she can do to make Marin want to live? Sisters Forever follows Wilde's journey after her sister's death, exploring how she processes her grief and reclaims her life.
This film offers a unique perspective that is rare both in Norway and internationally. It tells the story of two sisters who lived their lives for each other until Wilde discovers Marin's plan to take her own life. It is a cinematic documentary about overcoming grief and depression. Though the subject is heavy, the film is warm and infused with humor.
