ABOUT THE FILM

In the western USA during the 1860s, the headstrong Vivienne (Vicky Krieps) begins a relationship with Danish immigrant Holger Olsen (Viggo Mortensen). They move into his remote and modest home in Nevada to start a life together. Soon, the Civil War separates them, and Vivienne must navigate life alone in her new town, which is controlled by corrupt politicians and ruthless individuals. The film portrays a modern, independent woman determined to defend herself in an unforgiving world dominated by ruthless men.

TO THE END OF THE WORLD is written and directed by Viggo Mortensen, who also stars in the male lead role, produces, and composes the music. The female lead, Vivienne, is played by the incomparable Vicky Krieps, known from Phantom Thread.
