Gathering Songs - Stories from Palestine and the Greek Refugee Camps
Can music express what’s happening in the world and within us, when it feels like things are getting darker?
Can we come together in hope and unity in turbulent times?
For the past 17 years, Marthe Valle has been working in solidarity efforts in Palestine, in the Greek refugee camps, and here at home. Art and activism are more important than ever, and through being a knowledgeable and clear voice for human dignity and freedom, Marthe has opened many doors for engagement and dialogue.
Marthe is currently promoting both her book Håp er det du gjør ("Hope is What You Do") and the album Samlingssanger ("Gathering Songs"), which was a commissioned work for the Vise- og Lyrikkfestivalen in Haugesund. With this as her foundation, she is now doing a few exclusive solo concerts where she shares her many experiences and thoughts on how we must hold on to the belief that standing together matters in the fight for a better world. The concert is an intimate and value-oriented experience performed by one of the strongest voices of our time.
