This Autumn, Oddgeir Bruaset's Christmas Lecture Tour
This autumn, the speaker, TV personality, and author Oddgeir Bruaset is on a lecture tour, with Christmas as the main theme of the event.
Bruaset has written a book on the Christmas tree and its 500-year history. He has also authored several books about our Christmas carols, as many of the most famous ones have fascinating backstories. Not least, he has written a book titled Christmas Where No One Thought Anyone Could Live. It explores Christmas celebrations and traditions in remote areas, both past and present, and is full of touching and amusing Christmas stories. "Are people living far off the beaten track better at preserving old Christmas traditions, or have they, too, become more interested in trends than traditions?" he asks, and provides his own answer. Along with the hour-long lecture, he presents illustrative images.
At the end of the evening, there will be an opportunity to purchase Bruaset’s Christmas-related books, covering topics such as Christmas traditions in remote areas, the enchanting history of the Christmas tree, and the stories behind our Christmas carols. Those interested can also receive a personal inscription.
