Stavanger Gospel Company's Christmas concerts have become a highly valued tradition. For the past 14 years, the choir, along with guest artists such as Carola, Ole Edvard Antonsen, Ingebjørg Bratland, Halvdan Sivertsen, Anita Skorgan, Sigvart Dagsland, Ole Paus, Heine Totland, Egil Svartdahl, Tomas Sjödin, and the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, has provided the audience with unforgettable experiences. From grand performances to intimate and minimalist settings, these concerts have evoked laughter and tears. Packed venues with up to 2,600 attendees have created an intimate and atmospheric experience for both the audience and artists. The concerts have become some of the most popular Christmas events in the Stavanger region.
This year, the choir will hold its Christmas concert at the Stavanger Concert Hall, Kuppelhallen. The theme for the concert is "Hope." Once again, the choir will be joined by fantastic guests, including Thor Haavik (known as "Farmenpresten" on TV2) and a large symphonic ensemble led by Bjarte Mo from the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. Haavik's unique ability to engage and his positive demeanor will add warmth to the concert. With "Hope" as the theme, the symphonic musicians' sensitive and peaceful tones will be a perfect fit.
Stavanger Gospel Company, together with guests, band, and soloists, will offer the audience moments and experiences that span the entire emotional spectrum, always keeping the message of Christmas at the forefront. The repertoire ranges from traditional to newly written Christmas songs.
