The Brothers of Mercy presents
Songs of Love and Loss - A tribute to Nick Cave
The Brothers of Mercy have been playing and interpreting the music and lyrics of Nick Cave for almost 12 years. Over the years, we have become familiar with Nick Cave's songwriting and thinking, and in this concert we will pay tribute to Nick Cave, not only as a performer and artist, but also as an existential thinker. We have put together a selection of his finest songs, songs about classic existential themes that Cave, in our opinion, is among the very best to master and express, songs about love and death.
When it comes to love, then, death is not necessarily the end; on the contrary, it can be seen as playing a crucial role in active, living love, not only when it comes to love for a beloved who is absent, but also when it comes to love for a beloved who is present. And indeed, according to Kierkegaard, for any love to be genuine, the lover must dance with death: the thought of it must be a constant companion to love
The Brothers of Mercy consists of:
Martin Tjelta: Vocals
Karsten Tillerli: Drums
Per Steinar P. Longfjeld: Guitar
Svein Refvem: Bass
Fredrik Normann Skår: Keys
Kari Grethe Hjorthaug Gallaher: Vocals
