Join us for an exciting evening where Sola Historielag delves into the history of the island of Rott! For most people, this largest island off Sola is both fascinating and full of secrets, although many have visited it without realising its rich past.
Atle Skarsten takes the audience on a journey through the island's incredible history, from the Stone Age to the present day. Through engaging stories and images, he presents everything from fierce Viking battles with up to 2,500 warriors, dramatic stories of pilots, shipwrecks and plane crashes, to bird hunting traditions, bombing raids during the war and royal visits. Did you know, for example, that there was a great sea battle here in 1187?
Since this is also Sola Historielag's Christmas meeting, there will be a good pre-Christmas atmosphere with the annual betting game. Look forward to an eventful evening with both history and Christmas spirit!
