Malin Pettersen won a Spellemann Award for her solo debut "References Pt. 1" (2018), but it was the all-acoustic EP "Alonesome" (2019) that truly put her name on the international map. Millions of streams followed the release, along with praise from Billboard Magazine, Rolling Stone Country, and Paste Magazine.

The EP "Seasons," released on September 13, is the "spiritual sequel" to "Alonesome." This project is DIY in every aspect. Pettersen recorded the songs in her closet at home—the quietest spot in her apartment with the best sound. She produced the tracks herself, took her own press photos, and designed the covers herself. In the safe confines of her closet, Pettersen does what she does best: sings songs where lyrics and melody are the core elements, and her voice transports listeners beyond time and space.

Malin Pettersen is a restlessly exploring artist who never makes the same album twice. The Spellemann-nominated album "Wildhorse" (2020) was recorded in Nashville with local musicians, while last year's critically acclaimed R&B and pop-inspired album "Trouble Finding Words" was created in close collaboration with producer Martin Horntveth.

With "Seasons," you experience Malin Pettersen as close as possible, with breath, creaks, and the voice. With influences from Joni Mitchell, Iris DeMent, and Lisa Ekdahl woven into her unique style, the new songs show a songwriter in constant development. It's easy to see why Pettersen has captivated listeners since she began making music—and why this will continue through many future seasons.
