The physical comedy “Troll” has seen great international success, and now it’s finally coming to Stavanger!
Marie Kallevik Straume from Stavanger is a professional clown, trained in Paris, and together with her partner, Anna Marie Simonsen from Oslo, they’ve enjoyed international acclaim with the performance “Troll.”
The show has toured Los Angeles, Australia, Edinburgh, Brighton, London, and Warsaw, and now Stavanger and Rogaland Theatre are next in line!
A physical comedy for adults!
In “Troll,” we meet two trolls who have come to Rogaland Theatre, finding themselves on stage for the first time. Trolls are always cast as villains, but no one bothers to listen to the troll’s side of the story. After years of prejudice, defamation, and exclusion from non-troll society, they’re ready to share their side.
“Troll” is a physical comedy for adults, inspired by folklore and blending physical theatre, storytelling, scapegoats, music, clowns, long noses, and a hefty dose of nonsense.
“Queens of the Ridiculous”
The duo Straume and Simonsen were described as “queens of the ridiculous” by The Wee Review after their performance at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, the world’s largest theatre festival. Troll received 4 out of 5 stars in The Guardian and was listed among the top 50 shows at the festival by The Telegraph.
Earlier this autumn, the two clowns performed the innovative show Naughty Cabaret to sold-out audiences at Tou Scene!
