Of All Things
Known for their fearless and uncompromising approach to the genre, Of All Things have made waves with powerful and melodic alternative rock. Since starting in 2020, the band has gained recognition for their energetic live shows and established themselves as a promising name on the Norwegian rock scene. Drawing inspiration from bands like Foals, Kent, and The Amazons, the quartet combines guitar-driven alt-rock with emotional vocals and a solid rhythm section. With strong reviews for their debut EP and recent singles, they’re now set to release their debut album Falling In Line With The Person In Front Of You. Begun in 2022, the album captures a band in transformation, balancing conflict and harmony. Written over an extended period and with lineup changes, the album offers a range of styles—from in-your-face rock songs like I Want To Be Mean and Ink Stains to the alt-rock ballad You’ve Got To Know, showcasing the band’s musical diversity.
While the album is polished and controlled, Of All Things brings a totally different energy to their live performances: loud, chaotic, and high-energy. They’re best experienced in a dark, sweaty club where your Dr. Martens stick to the floor as you dance—perfect for Grottene, in other words.
Eie
With noisy instrumentation, autoharp, slam poetry, and noise vocals, Eie pushes the boundaries of what music can look and sound like, calling their style “gothic grunge.” Songwriter Emilie Eie uses music to reflect themes in her lyrics, such as destructive relationships and uncritical idolisation of authority. The songs are meant to challenge the listener’s mindset and punch up hard.
Since their debut EP in March 2023, the band has released several singles and is working towards an album set for spring 2025. Over the past year, Eie has performed at Mablisfestivalen, Tysnesfest, and the Vill Vill Vest industry festival in Bergen, where they received a six-star review from GAFFA.
“The artist commands a broad spectrum of emotions, expressed uniquely across songs, thanks to her strong performance and impeccable musical flair.” — GAFFA “Nordic Pick of the Month”
“Emilie Eie refuses to be decorative or pleasant. Here, there’s acid, noise, and sharp edges aplenty.” — Leif Tore Lindø, Aftenbladet
