Fun fact about Kongeparken

In 2015, Little Grey Fergie Land (Gråtassland) was awarded the world’s best new amusement park area by the THEA-awards which is considered to be the Oscars for amusement parks. Kongeparken is one of Norway’s five large amusement parks and one of the leading tourist attractions in the Stavanger region. Kongeparken was first opened by Gabriel Ålgård in May 1986, initially meant to be a recreational park with outdoor activities, birdcage, a BMX course, roller-skating, game arcades, golf courses and Gulliver (a climbing park formed as the giant Gulliver, where the head alone allegedly weighed 1, 8 ton!). In 1997 the Lund family purchased the park, and ever since the Lund treatment, the park was transformed into one of Norway’s greatest family parks and has become the tourist magnet that it is today. Every year, the park launches exciting, new adventures to everyone’s delight.
