In Sandnes, you get a smile in return

Do you like to window shop before deciding where to splash the cash? A stroll down Langgata, one of Norway's longest shopping streets, with its popular niche shops is a good start. Sandnes invites you to take a leisurely stroll through the city centre, where you'll find everything from toys, electronics, lifestyle shops, clothes, shoes, health food, interiors, books, flowers, gifts, art galleries, photography, hairdressers and make-up. You'll also find several second-hand shops.

Quench your thirst and hunger

If you're feeling a little peckish, there are plenty of cosy restaurants and cafés in Langgata or in Sandnes in general that are suitable for both young and old. At Emanuels Plass at Gamlaværket, for example, you'll find a cosy atmosphere with a play area for the little ones so that mum and dad can enjoy their coffee in peace. They also serve freshly baked pastries - and that's popular with the whole family, isn't it? You can also have dinner in the centre - how about Japanese? How about sinking your teeth into a Nigirizushi, Makizushi, Hosomaki or Uramaki? If you're a sushi lover, you've probably heard these names before. Either way, you'll get it at Sabi Sushi in Sandnes! On the road

Along the way, you can find a strawberry outlet (summer) or you can swing by a farm shop for great Norwegian produce. Whether you're cooking for yourself while on holiday or just want something to nibble on in between all the shopping, there's plenty of good local produce available.

Bargains in a factory outlet

Award-winning Figgjo has a factory outlet along the E39, just a 15-minute drive from Sandnes city centre. Here you can get a bargain, offering reduced-price first and second sorting and leftovers. In their bargain corner, they have collected many products at REALLY good prices, where you can find discontinued items, exciting surplus goods or samples. Or maybe you've been bitten by the knitting bug? Then Sandnes Garn is for you. Located at Foss Eikeland, Kvernelandsvegen 126, they sell yarns with great names like alpaca, merino, silk mohair or baby llama. Yarn is yarn you might say, but if you're an eager knitter, you might not quite agree.

Shop to your heart’s content

Let loose in one of Norway's largest shopping centres, Kvadrat. Here you'll find almost everything you can think of in terms of shops and places to eat, and let's face it; on a rainy day, you can stay dry while shopping here, no matter the weather outside.

You probably don't have enough hours in the day to experience everything on offer. But we can guarantee that at Kvadrat, there's something for him, her, the teenager and the toddler. Haven't had enough shopping yet? Swedish furniture and meatballs are just a stone's throw away (yes, you guessed it - that was a reference to Ikea).

Sore feet?

Or maybe you've got a stiff neck from carrying shopping bags? In the middle of Langgata, between shoes and banking services, you'll find a tiny place for a breather. Quite simply an oasis of well-being. The name simply oozes relaxation - Four Season Spa. Why don't you try it, you deserve it!

Some cash to spare?

How about sinking into soft seats and watching a good film on a big screen? You can do that at ODEON Kino Sandnes. There's a brand new luxury auditorium if you need a slightly elevated film experience, or you can of course watch films comfortably in the regular auditoriums too. Either way, the choice is yours! Read more and book your film experience here!
