The trail starts from the parking area at Otterstein, near the Askvoll side of the Dalsfjord Bridge, and takes you through varied terrain. The hike is relatively demanding, but no climbing is required – just pure nature experiences and fresh mountain air.

A hike to Hamnanova, 750 metres above sea level, offers a fantastic nature experience for the whole family. The trail takes you through varied terrain with a steady ascent of about 350 metres – just the right amount of challenge for both young and old adventurers.

Once at the top, you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular view over Jølstravatnet, Kjøsnesfjorden, and the majestic mountains that frame the landscape.

Let yourself be captivated by the panoramic views from Veten, the highest point in Vågsøy! Standing at 613 metres above sea level, this mountain towers over Måløy and, together with Brurahornet, creates a stunning backdrop for the coastal town.

The hike starts at Måløy Stadium, where you can park or follow the road up to the waterworks at Skramsvatnet. The trail leads you through beautiful natural terrain before reaching the summit – where you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view over large parts of Vågsøy, the mighty Stadhavet, and the endless horizon.

Lundeskaret – A True Mountain Classic in Jølster

Lundeskaret is more than just a hike – it’s an iconic mountain experience and perhaps the closest you’ll get to a true classic in Jølster.

The trail winds dramatically up the narrow and wild pass at the end of Kjøsnesfjorden, surrounded by sheer mountain walls and raw natural forces. This is Norway’s steepest DNT-marked hiking trail, so you’ll need to be in good shape and have knees that can handle the ascent!
