Whatever the weather, you're sure to be mesmerised by the steep rock walls and ever-changing light. There's something almost cathedral-like about the dark, deep fjord and the high sky. Both Rødne Fjordcruise and Ryfylke Adventure offer fjord cruises in the Lysefjord. f you want to get closer to the wet element, Nordic Paddling offers kayaking in the Lysefjord. Perhaps you'll be joined by a cobbe watching you curiously as you glide through the landscape.

A trip on the fjord isn't just for the summer season. During the winter months, you'll have the Lysefjord more or less to yourself and can enjoy the landscape and wildlife without disturbance.

Preikestolen can be used all year round, the snow transforms the landscape into a spectacular wonderland, where the dramatic nature shows itself from its most magical side. However, we recommend using a guide, and if you join a guide from Explore Lysefjorden, you'll get a unique hiking experience up to Preikestolen, with snowshoes or crampons on your feet if the weather permits. At this time of year, the Preikestolen plateau is far from crowded.
