The Resident Survey
In the autumn of 2024, Visit Fjordkysten and Sunnfjord conducted a resident survey to map the experiences and attitudes of the local population towards tourism in the region.
The survey has helped us identify both the positive impacts and challenges tourism brings, providing us with guidance for making necessary adjustments.
Some key findings from the survey:
- Visitor Management: It's crucial to ensure proper management in popular areas to reduce negative impacts.
- Regulation of Visitor Volume: Especially during peak seasons and at popular attractions, to prevent overcrowding.
- Infrastructure Development: Improvements in sanitary facilities, parking, and waste disposal stations.
- Nature Preservation: Facilitating and protecting nature, and informing tourists about responsible behavior.
