A beautiful hike along the nature trail that runs from Åkrehamn to Ferkingstad on the west side of Karmøy. There are cultural and historic monuments that can be seen between Åkra and the site of the old boathouse at Hop. The hike can commence at the north end of Åkrasanden Beach. From here there is a fabulous view of the white beaches that stretch along the coastline. The hike follows a natural track from which you can also experience the rich fauna and birdlife of the area. The hike ends at the Fisherman's Memorial, a monument erected in memory of the local fishermen who lost their lives at sea. Commence at the Naturbarnehagen kindergarten or the parking area at the Red Cross centre. Degree of difficulty: low. Duration: approx. 2 hours.

Åkrasanden has the renowned eco-label Blue Flag, which is an exclusive international environmental certification of beaches and marinas.

At Rabinowitz Square you can play with reality by looking through the magnificent glass artwork "Time".
