Alnes lighthouse and experience centre is situated close to the ocean on Godøya island – a beautiful spot on a beautiful island. The centre’s elegant building is discreetly integrated into the terrain. Here, you can take a break, look at art and get an insight into the exciting lighthouse history on the island. In the cafe, you can buy delicious, locally produced food and cakes – the lighthouse cake is famous! Would you like to bring something home for yourself or as a gift? The café also offers a selection of unique and handmade products for sale.
Exhibitions
The art gallery offers temporary exhibitions throughout the year by local and national artists. Both the gallery and the café can be used as a party, concert and event venue if you are planning something special.
The old lighthouse
If you take the trip up the steep stairs in the old lighthouse from 1876 (entrance fee), you can admire the view from above, as well as a beautiful art exhibition by the renown Norwegian artist Ørnulf Opdahl on your way up. Enjoy the spectacular sea and sky view, breathe in the fresh air, and let your mind wander!
Entrance fee only to the lighthouse itself – adults NOK 60 and children NOK 30.
