Bødal Glacier

At the end of Lovatnet you find Bødalen, from here there goes a toll road to Bødalseter. The road to Bødalseter is about 5 km long, partly paved and some parts with gravel. The road is suitable for passenger cars as it is narrow and winding in some places. At the end of the road you reach a car park, here from here there is a dirt road to Bødalsseter, this short walk takes about ten minutes to walk.
Bødalsbreen is located at 585m above sea level in Jostedalsbreen National Park. Setra, which stands there today, was built after a race closure in 1893. Setra is a perfect starting point for more hikes, and one of the most popular is to Bødalsbreen, which takes about 50 minutes walk from the setra. From Bødalseter there is a well-marked ravine in the valley, as well as signs showing roads. After a while the path divides and there is new signage. To the left towards Lodalskåpa and to Høgre towards Bødalsbreen. On the way to the glacier there is a good view of Lake Sætrevatnet which is a glacial lake.

When you is in the proximity of glaciers one must show care. Along the glacier fronts it is common for things to go fast, so one should stop at a distance and not go too close. If you want to go on glaciers, find more information during the letter change.

NB: It is very dangerous to move close to the glacier without a guide. The danger of ice falling off is high in certain parts of the glacier.
