Bordalsgjelet Gorge

From the center of Voss, follow the gravel road along Vangsvatnet inwards into Prestegardsmoen. At the end of Prestegardsmoen, you cross the bridge over the river Vosso. After the bridge, turn right, along the river and follow the signs to Bordalsgjelet.

Bordalsgjelet is a spectacular natural attraction within walking distance of the center. The deep and dramatic Bordalsgjelet is designed for the public with an information board, vantage point, and benches. When there is no snow and ice, there is also an adapted path you can follow inland. Here you get a good view of the fantastic potholes that ice and the river have shaped over the millennium, but remember, for your safety: stick to the marked paths!

Notes: Follow the paved path into the gorge, do not try to climb over the fence!

On foot, 45 min: From Voss center, follow the gravel road along Vangsvatnet inland in Prestegardsmoen. At the end of Prestegardsmoen, you cross the bridge over the river Vosso. After the bridge, turn right, along the river and follow the signs to Bordalsgjelet. When you get up the hill, turn left, and then you come to a footpath. Continue until you see the parking lot and information board on the left. Go up to the left and through the gate, follow the path into the gill.

By car, 10 min: Follow Uttrågata and then Gjernesvegen from Voss center. Park in the parking lot with an information board on the left side of the road.
