The beach is located between one of the most marked and distinct geological landscape divides in the country, at the transition from the rocky landscape of Dalane to the flat Jæren on the edge of Norway. There is access from the north side of the beach by the car park there, and public toilets by the beach. You'll also find Brusand camping and Ogna camping at either end of Brusanden.
An Eldorado for water sports
Brusand beach is ideal for all kinds of water activities. On fine summer days, the beach is full of bathers, but it's important to realise that the undercurrents at the beach can be incredibly strong. Be careful when swimming and watch out for children playing in the water.
The waves at Brusand are also a popular destination for surfers and one of the beaches where kiting is allowed. You can surf all year round, and summer is especially good for beginners as there is often less wind and waves in the summer. For the more experienced surfers, conditions further into autumn and winter will be ideal. Please remember that surfing/boarding/kiting is prohibited on beaches affected by bird protection from 1 October to 31 March. Kiting is only possible on the following beaches: Sola, Hellestø, Byberg, Bore and Brusand.
Explore Brusand
Just off the beach, you will find the historical memorial, Hitler's teeth. These are a series of concrete blocks that were built by the Germans during the Second World War. The Hitler Teeth were intended to prevent Allied landings and were part of the Atlantic Wall. You can see the Hitler Teeth from County Road 44 or from the top of the dunes.

A walk along Brusanden is a great experience all year round. You can either bring your picnic basket and have a cosy picnic on the beach, or wrap up in good clothes and experience the weather at its harshest. The changing weather in Jæren means you'll have a different experience every time.
An international "Hope Spot"
Jæren's coastline has been recognised as an international "Hope Spot" by the Mission Blue organisation. Hope Spots are special places that are critical to the health of the ocean - the blue heart of our earth. Brusand beach is an important habitat for many bird species and is, therefore, part of a protected area.

Responsible tourism at the beaches at Jæren
- It is forbidden to drive motorised vehicles
- In the bird protection areas, you cannot exercise activities of disturbing effect; surfing, board sailing, kiting and dog walking.
- It is prohibited to surf/board sailing/kiting in the bird-protected areas from 1 October to 31 March
- Horseback riding, bike riding, camping and tenting in the sand dunes are prohibited
- You must not walk on farmland during the growing season
- Respect people's privacy. Do not set up a tent any nearer than 150 meters from a house or a cottage
- You'll need permission from the land owner if you camp for longer than 2 nights
- Do not light a fire in nature between 15 April to 15 September
- Respect the fact that others might use the area as their livelihood
- If you bring along a dog in nature, you are obligated to keep it on a leash where livestock is grazing. Remember the general laws on keeping dogs on a leash
- For hunting and fishing, special rules apply that you need to be aware of
- Flying with drones is forbidden throughout the entire landscape protection area
- Larger events are not allowed without a special dispensation
